Training
Our clients are first assessed to determine their strengths and weaknesses, current cardiovascular endurance, body composition, and potential disabilities. Following the assessment clients are placed on a carefully designed program that is tailored to their goals, needs, and availability.
At Fortress Fitness we believe in a modern philosophy of training termed hybrid training, in other words be great at everything. Sessions will be constantly varied and consist of a combination of HIIT training, isolation, balance, strength and power. The beauty of these training sessions is that they can be modified to fit a individuals needs whether it be strength and conditioning, weight loss, or even rehabilitation.
Sessions are available in both 30 minute and full hour sessions. Two times a week is strongly recommended. NASM guidelines for exercise recommends “at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardiorespiratory exercise, 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity, or a combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity exercise per week. The weekly recommendation for resistance training is 2 or more days per week with exercises for all the major muscle groups.” The key phrase in this quote is “at least,” which implies this is the minimum needed to have sustaining health benefits such as decrease in blood pressure, and decreasing risk of cardiovascular disease.
